Saturday, May 13, 2006 ::: THINGS I DON'T UNDERSTAND The band you see above is called Coldplay. And their latest album is titled X&Y. It's a great album, with songs that can fall into the 'absofuckinglutely amazing' category. Such numbers include 'Speed of Sound', 'Fix You', 'White Shadow', 'Talk', and some more (Now only $89 at HMV peeps). And I'm listening to X&Y right now. Brings me back to summer of 2005. Reminds me of the BMI flight (London - Brussels) that we missed. We missed that flight for reasons I can't totally comprehend, till this very day. But it was actually a combination of so many faults. Some are mine, of course. We overslept. And so we missed the morning flight. We decided to take the tube to Heathrow in the end. And that bitch wouldn't let us check in. I actually think we'd have enough time to make it to the plane on time. But that bitch just wouldn't let us check our luggages. But the kind man at the ticketing booth gave us his quota for family fare. So each of us bought a new ticket for 50 bounds each. He made 25 pounds off each ticket. But originally we'd have to pay around 100 pounds for the ticket (how bloody expensive, for an 1 hour flight!). Should he be fired because of that? Hmmm.... but we actually saved some 50 pounds because of him. So we did thank him, in a genuine way. Nobody really wanted to talk. After each of us paid the (already heavily discounted) 50 pounds for the ticket, we all felt kinda numb. So that's a rather 'grand' start for the Grand Tour. You bet how we felt about money at that point. I ordered a 15 pound breakfast. It was such a big breakfast, I couldn't finish it. It has everything you can have for a breakfast - toast sausages eggs ham beans - everything fat and greasy and full served on the same plate. It's a very good breakfast indeed. 3 of us had to use Heathrow's bathroom together. We actually talked to each other during the process. It's quite a messed up thing to do, but we were speaking a language that I presume nobody else in the washroom could understand (it wasn't a busy washroom by the way I vaguely remember that nobody else was using the facility at that time...) Talk about experience that money can't buy. They call it 'priceless'. It's actually a rather good memory now.
